This necklace is Inspired by Frida Kahlo and her very meaningful phrase: “Piernas para que las quiero, si tengo alas para volar” (Feet? What do I need them for, when I have wings to fly!).

Frida Kahlo was one of the most accomplished artists of her generation and she continues to be an icon and an example of originality, strength, individuality and an inspiration to many people not only in Mexico but all over the world. The necklace features the face of Frida Kahlo with a big blue flower head piece, her nude body and her red wooden boot of her amputated leg. She has 2 shimmering scalloped gold wings that symbolize her arms which made her fly through her incredible art.

Her flower headpiece is representative of the “Tehuana” traditional dress from the Tehuantepec Isthmus, which is in the southeast part of Mexico in the state of Oaxaca. Frida chose a very beautiful traditional dress that symbolizes very powerful, independent and strong women. This necklace is fun and light, and it will surely make you feel lovely and stylish!
